This is a very striking photograph. This photo has it all - great composition, silhouettes, shadows and good light. It's nice to see the photographer use the architecture and surroundings along with patience to capture this.

Interesting light, great composition; lovely little moment. Those moments end up being the most important part of just about any picture and the most difficult to get.

The photographer found this off beat minute and took advantage of the light to make the photograph. I know that you don't have time to do much of this because you are not in position to take photographs that you have been hired to make—bride and groom, etc.

Interesting light, great composition. lovely little moment. Those moments end up being the most important part of just about any picture and the most difficult to get. I just can't refrane from giving this image a prize. Nice action that captures the emotion of the moment.

I loved the quiet moment here and that the photographer used the natural light to preserve the atmosphere. Once again, backlighting creates a dramatic edge to a nice flowing photograph. The natural tones in the surroundings give this an historic feel.

This is a wonderful image. The natural light back light accentuates the bride and gives the photo a distinct edge. The less obvious angle paid off.

This photograph has great body language. Again I don't know if these folks are important in this particular wedding story, but capturing the body language of the group and taking advantage of the light made a good photograph.
Photographer's Comment
The groomsmen were waiting for the bridesmaids to finish their touchups and I noticed this moment - groom in the middle - in a great position for a silhouette against the water. I had to quickly stop down to get the right look as the moment didn't last long.

Nice light inside the reception glows as this couple is silhouetted by the blue sky giving us a nice sense of place.

Composition and light of the bride making her way down the stairway shot from above gives her gown a great sense of texture.

The full-framed photograph of the musician is very impressive. The photographer knows how to use light to his or her advantage. The warm tones and blacks draw your eye into the highlights on the bow and fingers.

Great action and the expressions plus the backlighting make the photograph. Take a look at the people in the background. The bride is tack sharp—just where it needs to be—and there is a bit of movement in the groom's face, which actually adds to the photograph. Good work

The shadow gives dimension, and it's simply pretty. Her hand and the hand holding her train hurt the picture.

Best use of silhouette in the category, the mixed light and shadow works perfectly. The bride's face looks severe but the lens choice and the light were stunning.

This photograph stands out. This has a real journalistic edge. The lighting is dramatic, and the subjects are unaware of the photographer. The composition also works well.

I like the graphic composition the light is creating and the light backlighting the dress. I wish the photo was cropped more on the top below the air conditioner or that the photographer had left the top of the arch in for better framing.
