The light, the motion and the gesture all combine here to produce great drama. There is a wonderful mystery and romance to the frame. There is also the sense of the "rush" of the day, Wonderful.

Another tough category. There were a lot of worthy action shots. This won out for me because it was a genuine moment of the bride and groom. A couple of the swinging pictures had slightly better action, but this one had the edge, because of the subtle reaction on the bride's face and the crowd all watching in the background. The bride being off the ground, the photo is all action. Well executed with just enough blur in the dress to give a sense of movement.

A perfect multi layered composition with several stories happening at the same time and where the painting on the background seems to interact with the subjects. A big perfect fresco about happiness, friendship and love

An unusual angle and framing for the bouquet toss. This was a photographer thinking about something other than the usual way to shoot this. It is a timeless shot. Also very graphic. The washed out look makes me feel the spiritual moment in this part of the ceremony.

An intriguing and strange situation where the married couple seems to escape or to be followed by someone. A different, unusual wedding action; almost a movie action

Good use of strobe with slow shutter speed. Good faces. Nice color. Using fill flash and blurring the background gives this frame a real sense of movement. It is exceptionally well executed. I tend to be a little tired of the tilt but the technique is still quite valid, though aging. Her face seals the deal for me. A fantastic happy and exotic wedding action.

This is a spontaneous moment that was captured from afar in a way that seems unknown to the subject. I like the sense of space in the picture.

The combination of the bump and the face of the bride gave this photo two points of reference, or reasons to enjoy the photo. The lines are diagonal which are the action lines. Her face makes this more than just an action shot.

Good photos all have a sense of location, and this one sure does. Down home, no frills, bunch of folks who just know each other and can let their hair down. Nice job.

This is a very clean picture and it gives off an overall sense of fun while still capturing a spontaneous moment.

The photographer knew this was coming so there is no serendipity here but he or she executed the moment well, better than the other photo of this event I also saw in the category. The water is at its peak. The photographer's timing was excellent.

Nice energy in this photo. There were some technical issues that brought it down. This could have been a contender for a higher place.

The energy in this images is unbridled! The bride and groom took the Horah to a whole new level by chasing each other around the room. Using my Canon 5D and a rear-curtain sync flash, I was able to capture the peek of action. Super fun.

This picture is very graphic. A surprising and spooky way to portray a bride. It took me by surprise.

Unexpected, in a word. Great facial expression and it carries the day. Wonderful gesture, and it sums up the gamut of bridal emotions

Just a fun picture. Reminds me of a winning football coach being carried off the field. I want to be at this wedding; that's how much fun this looks.

Nothing was more surprising to this Irish Catholic father of the bride than being lifted in the air during a fun Horah. His face shows all the excitement he was feeling and I was so happy to have a 20 mm wide angle lens on!

Even if this a usual wedding action situation, looking at the expessions of the people you have the impression to be on a theatre stage more than in a wedding party. Great moment.

An unusual way to tell something about an usual wedding situation. You can read the married couple's oath to help and sustain each other in this amusing "country" action.
