Sweet candid moment as the Groom kisses the Bride who is sitting on his lap. The framing of the candle adds an atmospheric glow and both the couple and the guests in the background are nicely side lit adding a nice dimension to the photograph

This photograph has captured such a poignant moment. You can feel the emotion in the foreground and the background. Capturing the women hugging in the background makes this a very strong image.

The height this guy has is incredible. The high ceiling and hanging light add to the depth of this picture. The groom's expression is great and this is definitely a found moment in time.

I loved that the photographer saw this. I think it is a really great study of human behavior and looking beyond the obvious. The composition is strong and really emphasizes the grip that the groom has on the bride and the yearning glance of the wedding guest.

Great behind the scenes shot in a poolroom smoking cigars. The composition and color of the red wall and green pool table add layers to this photograph and help guide us to the subject whose smoke you can see. There are lots of great elements in this photo such as the symmetry of the lamps in the photograph and the detail of the glass on the edge of the table

It is a wonder that more people aren't hurt in this tradition. I was at a reception when the chair fell apart—the lady probably wonders about the chair quality and the strength of her supporters. Great contrast of expression between the two main subjects.

Everything about this photo works. It jumps off the page. The higher angle brings this photo to life. It's a great setting for a reception and the photographer captured the scene perfectly.

I like the couple framed through the confetti. Both have good expressions as he tries to guide her in the pouring of the champagne. It is the expression of the bride and groom that caught my eye amidst the confetti. Soft natural light and warm colors in the background make this a well balanced photo.

This girl is adorable. So peaceful. The chairs are perfect for her size. The only thing is that it does not say that she is at a wedding. She could be anywhere, which is why it was not in my top three. The picture itself is wonderful.

A really good overall that shows a large selection of the wedding party in focus and lighted perfectly. Things are a great deal easier with the latitude of digital photography. I know that the photographer does not have any control over the subjects in this situation, but a better positioning of the subjects with a little more of the front of the bride and groom would make this image better. We just had the judging of the White House News Photographers Association and one of the judges remarked that the news photographer should have waited for some better light than the harsh mid-day light of the news event. Every photographer in the room silently winced and here I am doing about the same thing. Don't you just hate it when judges try to improve your pictures with stupid recommendations?

Wow, lots of great layering going on in this photograph from the woman doing the split in front of the guy in the wheelchair, to the girls at left dancing as if they are the only ones in the room. Good expressions all around.

The angle of this photo is what makes this a winner. The photographer took the time to go overhead, think about what was happening, and create. The position of the subjects is great, while the lines of lights on the right of the frame bring a nice balance to this photo. The only problem I had was that the photo was a little underexposed. It could have been dodged on the group of people.

This photo works because the photographer took the less obvious angle during the cake cutting. All the elements work together to make a striking graphic image. This is a very refreshing photo from what could be a mundane moment. Bravo

This is a fun, well-composed photo. Nice anticipation and good faces. A higher angle may have cleaned up the background.

The tight composition emphasizes the intensity of his gaze. Very strong. Going tight and putting light in there made this work.

What worked for me in this picture is the emphasis on the guys in the backround. The composition made this a very complete moment. It was nice to see this angle and took this often trite moment to a new and better level.

Great action and well lit, but a little too much back of the man on the left.

I can feel the music and dancing in this picture. What makes it all work so well is the wide composition, the faces and the good light and the feeling of motion

This is a very story-telling photograph. It's well composed.

Wonderful action, but there are a couple of distracting elements in the background—the two women on each side of the foreground. Perhaps a vertical?
