Classic image. Scene plays out at many weddings – concerned father checking the proverbial watch with fashionably late bride so caught up in the moment that for her, time is irrelevant. This photo captures two great wedding moments in an instant: the classic image of the father of the bride worrying about things not going according to schedule, and the happy bride leaning on dad, looking like she hasn't a care in the world.

Image is full of life and perfectly composed. The gleeful leaping dog adds humor and spontaneity to what may have been planned as a posed portrait. Barefoot attire and casual body language adds to the feeling of warmth and “familyâ€.

I have always found it interesting that a common scene, repeated hundreds of thousands of times each year, is so often missed by talented photojournalists, including myself. Here it is captured in such beauty that it becomes symbolic of all scenes of its type. A gentle kiss from a man to a woman on their wedding day rises above all the rest simply because all of the great elements of good photography and photojournalism came together in one exquisite moment. This photo is soft and intimate. The photographer has managed to get in close to the couple and share this exchange with the viewer.

A priceless, little moment perfectly capturing a woman's confidence and a man's befuddlement when he is faced with an unexpectedly tender gesture.

This photo shows the excitement of the wedding day and a moment between two men. This is an unexpected photo of the groom. A great moment frozen in time; the moment when family and friends come together, delighting in each other's company. Love the total joy and togetherness.

An extraordinarily powerful moment between father (presumably) and son. The touching heads, the pained expressions, the tear welling in the groom's eye ... it's almost uncomfortable, yet compelling, to see this emotion on what should be a day of joy. This could be the melancholy sharing of memories, or possibly shared hurt that a loved one couldn't be there with them ... whatever the cause, the resulting photograph is raw and moving. One of those powerful memories that mean so much among loved ones. Perfect use of lens and composition. The photographer has captured a very personal and sweet moment. The composition highlights the similarities of their features.

A powerful photo capturing a raw emotional moment between the bride and groom. Very moving photo. Bride embracing groom, very close-up, graphic and emotional - a portrait of unity, support and strength.

What would be a nice, but fairly routine picture of the groom kissing the bride becomes a comical departure when a child gets down on all fours to find the best view of the action. Perfectly composed and captured. The focus of everyone in this photo is on the bride and groom but the viewer can not help but concentrate on the family. Everyone in the photo is so genuinely happy for the couple yet the couple is so calm. This is a great moment and composition. Dynamic crop with bride and groom in foreground - but the expressions on the kids behind them are priceless. Love the little girl blocking her eyes!

Moments of love and desire in our life are those exquisite happenings that change all, if we take time to notice. That is the privileged role of a photojournalist, to be sensitive and aware – to sit on the front row seats as incredible dramas unfold in shouts and whispers and find truth as it can only occur in the unfettered human experience of a moment. Sometimes this occurs with technical precision – every art of the craft joins to find a moment in unison. Such images are rare. More often, moments occur in simple, sometimes flawed images. But this is where the power of the moment reins supreme, overcoming the obstacles of the printed image to create iconic images of the human experience. This image resonates with what I call, “the power beneath the emulsion. rdquo; It was not chosen for technical precision but rather for the grand feeling it evokes in the moment of love, passion and desire. The kiss may be tender, but the sly smile on the groom's face and placement of his hand low on her back suggests the real fun is about to begin.

This image perfectly captures the subtlety of capturing emotion at the right moment. You really feel the emotion of the couple in their embrace. Very emotional. Love that the figures are off-centered. Pretty light and composition.
