I love the formality of this portrait; it reminds me of a European court painting. I like the way the people are placed and I really like the muted colors of the background paintings that add color to the photograph but don't distract from the portrait.

I loved the pattern and the body language of this image. Of the group portraits it was the one that stuck out. Great eye for the photographer to see the pattern and create a theatrical picture.

Attitude, attitude and more attitude. This portrait just gets better and better with each look. The simple, direct approach of the photographer points out what is most important in the image... the subject. The tattoo and the dress really work well together and the color palette adds the final element to make this picture work. Oh, and there's the bride's expression. Awesome image. Great job

Nice use of props and location to give a little insight/humor into these folks' lives. The bride looks like she could have been a bride in the '60s (perhaps an homage to Bob Dylan?) and the groom looks like he could be straight out of the country. The barn doors offer some nice graphic elements as do the hand-painted signs.

I think this is cleverly done. I like the woman's posture and the way she's studying herself in the mirror while the man is out of focus in the background. I like the photographer's choice of room; it feels like a scene from the 30's.

Placing the bride and groom at one of their local haunts was a nice choice. Feels natural. I could easily picture them meeting for the first time over a cup of ice cream on the same bench. The reflections of the groomsmen in the window offer an added bonus.

Very cool use of "available" light. Expressions and energy of the couple add to the excellently balanced tones.

I don't like the composition as well with this portrait as others. I went back and forth, but the focus on the bride worked better because of her striking physical appearance compared to the portrait.

Talk about great placement of your subjects. Great seeing and making use of a wonderful location. The mellow light and natural curvature of the lines makes this a classic shot they'll no doubt enlarge to poster size and hang above the mantel.

Solid concept makes this different than the average wedding party portrait. Might have been risen higher without the hint of other beach visitors.
Photographer's Comment
During wedding party portraits, I typically break up the bridesmaid and the groomsmen to get their individual group shots. I ran back to grab a piece of equipment and caught both groups dutifully waiting in pose for my return.

This was a simple portrait, but that is part of its appeal. I liked the backlight and the color palette. Reward to the photographer scouting out a simple, but beautiful portrait location.

This is a clever portrait of the groom and groomsmen. I like the composition and the position of the men. The texture of the trees through the window adds another dimension to the photo.

Candid relaxed warmth create a feeling of an intimate moment that should be remembered. Different and compelling. Excellent command of light.
