8th place in Mobile Devices
The WPJA contest judges presented Brett Butterstein, a California, United States wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- This image is straight from a movie set. The photographer thought enough to back up and create a powerful scene of color and light, and the selfie in the middle. Beautiful photo.
- Look close and youʼll find something extraordinary. Make sure you look left and right. Study everyone and everything. Itʼs amazing. Itʼs like a painting. And the bride is the only one using a device! Of course, she does so to make a selfie but… This is a pretty cool photo for reason beyond the whole i-thing. Thereʼs a lot to look at in this image. Use some imaginary cropping and youʼll probably find two or three other decent moments in this colorful scene. Only one device! Wow.
Wedding photographer Brett Butterstein, was awarded 8th place for photo 1939471 in the Mobile Devices category for the WPJA's 2016 Q4 Photography Competition.
