The WPJA contest judges presented Brad Wakefield, a Somerset, United Kingdom wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Here’s a moment with no need for explanation. But these images are judged on the basis of moments, and/or a “good eye”...a term that was often used throughout my career that referred to a photographic vision. As for a storytelling moment, this image certainly qualifies. If I saw this photo in a different context I would still know the likely story (and event) behind it. What I see is a father briefly overcome by the enormity of the occasion. It evokes the sentiment in the heart of almost every father - “You’ll always be my baby, my princess, daddy’s little girl.”
