1st place in Toasting/Speeches
The WPJA contest judges presented Darren Poh, a Singapore wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Great moment of a toast around an elderly couple. Also love the contrast of the younger generation and older generation.
- The universal juxtaposition of extremes never seems to tire us. And that’s for good reason, because such images usually bridge a gap in the narrative that helps expand upon a moment. In this case, of course, the lovely elderly couple, seated as they toast, surrounded by youth that still raise their glass high.
