The WPJA contest judges presented Ryan Browne, a South Yorkshire, United Kingdom wedding photographer, with this Master Piece Award as recognition for top wedding photojournalism in the industry.
The leading documentary wedding photographers in the world enter their best photos to the Wedding Photojournalist Association's photography competitions. They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

- Good timing combines with good light to capture a moment so ordinary one can almost hear the expression of relief in the room as the bride approves her "look" with a faint smile that hints of a deep sigh of resignation. Such is the power of a photograph, its ability to communicate the benign in a way that speaks to all; to preserve a fleeting and fragile moment into something as solid as a monument. I like this photo. It's bare-bones, rock-solid photojournalism.
