They want their wedding reportage photographs to be evaluated and selected by some of the most notable and respected working picture editors and photojournalists in the news industry (these are not wedding photographers or other WPJA members judging their work). Winning these competitions is a true accomplishment for a wedding photographer.

  • This is a really nice scene, the panoply of umbrellas serving to frame the bride, whose face is the only one seen in the picture. It would have benefited from a more dramatic crop, either just under the hand of the woman in the foreground, or even more drastically just under the bride's feet (either crop would have eliminated some unnecessary distractions, focused even more on the bride and employed a more severe shape to emphasize the movement within the photo). Love the angle, color and graphicness of this image. Such a happy photograph of the bride being followed by her clan, with all connected by simple, white umbrellas. Looks like a modern day version of an Impressionist painting.
