Silhouettes, Shadows & Good Light

This image evokes a special feeling about the day and the use of the infrared film enhances the other worldly feeling of where the couple chose to have their wedding. It seems that they wanted to go to a beautiful place and this evokes that feeling. People often choose their sites carefully as well as their photographers vision. This photographer combined the content with the technique to create a powerful portrait of the bride in place.

This photograph works on several levels. Great job with the camera angle isolating the ring finger and focusing the eyes on the silhouette. Simple, clean technically, a good job of seeing.

COMMENTS: The photographer captured an introspective peaceful moment of the bride. The silhouette against the wall gives her distance from the world.

This image feels very film noir, and has a lot of depth to the image. It's striking and stopped me dead in my tracks when I saw it. The use of reflection and stark lighting really works. It's also got a lot of mystery which helps add to the impact of the image

Nice use of color and light creates an intimacy between the couple.

I did a double take on this photograph. Until you see the shadow on the wall you almost miss what is happening between the bride and the groom. The shadow literally takes on a persona of its own adding a separate dimension and a bit of humor. Very nice image.

This image is a nice contrast of place and people and shows the anticipation of the event as a member of the wedding practices their speech or prepares for the wedding. Again, it's a story telling images that uses strong visuals.

I liked the focus of exposure in this image which creates a sense of mystery and depth. The shaft of light points the way into the darkness. Nice creative use of light taken at just the right moment.
