I love being at the viewpoint of the little girl. Their body language tells us that the girl may be in need of some sort of direction from her wise elders. The dress hanging on the wall to the right is an important element as well.

A change in format doesn't necessarily help make better pictures, but if the photograph works then it works and I liked this photograph for a variety of reasons. The light is wonderful on her scarf, the repeating smiles on the faces of the women in the background and the general feel of the photograph. The thing I wish I could've seen a bit more of was the women's faces in the foreground. I just felt that it was so close to completely blowing the other pics away, but the fact that the expressions were a bit hard to read. I loved the feel of the picture and I also liked the composition and the risk of using a different format.

Honest, funny, again crossing from wedding photography to documentary photography.

I get a great sense of place with this photograph. The pictures lining the mirror make me feel as if the photo was made in a family salon or at someone's home. Excellent lens choice and depth of field brings us to the subject who apparently has other things to worry about other than her hair. Love it!

Some pictures just work on a different level. I don't love the light, but I love what this represents in the scheme of communicating what a pain in the butt all this getting dressed is for the woman. When I've photographed weddings it always seems that there is a moment of confusion with the clothes for the women and I love that this picture captured that feeling. I also love the woman highlighted in the background sillouhetted against the window. This just added to the tension in the image and every good image has some tension nestled within its four corners.

Although this is a common situation it is well executed. I liked the natural lighting which preserved the subtle tones of the image rather than bouncing a strobe. The soft lighting gave this photograph a nice feel.

This is a special moment for these women. The way the veil covers them both gives this photo a gentle quality and I love the dirty bare feet. Imperfection is real.
