Getting Ready

I love the rollers and the way the women are watching the bride get ready. Has a nice documentary feel.

A classic and unsentimental moment from the wedding day! Credit to the photographer for going beyond the cliched images you expect to produce a storytelling picture. This goes beyond the typical nervous bride image, especially one who doesn't seemed concerned with wrinkling her dress. I might suggest a more dramatic horizontal crop to the top to produce a more dynamic image. Excellent work!

Hilarious. Priceless moment of getting ready, sure putting on deodorant is necessary but you don't expect to see a bride already made up having someone apply it to her. Great part of the photographer staying with every moment. It clearly paid off.

Natural and truly reflective of the new realities of wedding day. A terrific moment.

Very humorous. It's small details like "It's hot under this dress" that get forgotten but leave it to a dedicated photographer to really capture every detail. I'm sure the bride will look back on the moment and laugh as I did.

Beautiful composition. The tension in the bride's face takes it to the next level.

Very different from anything I saw in this category.

Good expression on the subject's face! Probably asking himself "why did we pick this time of the year?" The photo also helps to tell the complete story of the wedding by setting up that this wasn't a traditional summer time event. Be careful of the merging figure behind the subject. Always be aware of your subject to background mergers and prepare to move quick to keep the images clean.

Dramatic cropping in the camera and the willingness to take a chance with a non-traditional view of getting ready makes this a nice shot. Variety in your choice of camera angles, cropping, lens choice, etc. keep your pictures from looking like each other.
